President Nurković expressed satisfaction with the record attendance at the Turjak II track
Thanks to the efforts of the local self-government of Rožaj and the support of the Government of Montenegro, in 2017 the ski resort on Turjak was put into operation after more than a decade of break..
The people of Rožaj do not hide their enthusiasm for the trail, which was once a tourist brand of this region, so during this winter season they used their free time mainly for skiing. Turjak was once again a place where our fellow citizens living abroad, as well as guests from other cities of Montenegro and countries of the region, gathered. The "Hajla" ski center, in cooperation with the municipality of Rožaje and certain organizations, continuously worked on the implementation of numerous programs whose goal was to gather as many visitors as possible, especially members of the younger population. The low price of ski passes and free parking additionally influenced winter sports fans to decide on a day stay at Turjak. More than 200 children received diplomas from the ski school, while training for adults also took place in parallel.
Although the end of February is approaching, the ski season is still open. The president of the municipality, Ejup Nurković, expressed satisfaction with that fact.
"The efforts of the local self-government and the management of the Ski Center "Hajla" to reconstruct, restart and put into operation the trail "Turjak II" resulted in extraordinary attendance in the 2018/19 season.
It is worth noting that February 18 was the last date for skiing on Turjak so far, which means that this year a record was achieved. We would like to point out that this ski resort is the flywheel for the projects in Hajla and Štedim, which we consider to be the biggest chance for Rožaj and the generators of our municipality's development," said President Nurković.
