The delegation of Sarajevo Canton paid an official visit to the Municipality of Rožaje today.
It consisted of representatives in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly - Zvonko Marić, Bilsena Šahman, Samir Suljević, Jasna Duraković, Amra Hasagić, Sead Milavica, Elvis Vreto and the president of the Association of Citizens from Sandžak in Bosnia and Herzegovina Ekrem Lekić, director of the Bosnian Cultural Center of Sarajevo Canton Jasmin Duraković and Jusuf Hadžifejzović, academic fine artist.
Guests from BiH were welcomed by the President of the Municipality Rahman Husović, President of the Municipal Assembly Almir Avdić, Vice President of the Municipality Ismet Kalač, Manager Mirsad Džudžević, Head of the Cabinet of the President Emir Kuč, Advisors to the President of the Municipality Amel Šahić and Dženana Kuč, Secretary of the Secretariat for Social Activities Hamza Dacić, Head of the Office for international cooperation and diaspora Fahreta Husović, directors of the Cultural Center, Tourist Organization, National Library and Sports Center Beća Kujević, Nedžad Murić, Fetija Kurtagić and Asad Omerović.
The political parties participating in the Rožaj parliament were represented by Haris Zejnelagić (BS), Ruždija Kalač (DPS) and Alen Kalač (SD).
The President of the Municipality of Gusinje Anela Čekić, the President of the Municipality of Plav Nihad Canović and the President of the Municipality of Petnjica Samir Agović took part in the meeting in Rožaje.
Today's meeting was organized with the aim of further improving the cooperation between the municipalities of Sandzak and Sarajevo Canton in the field of education, economy, culture and sports.
On this occasion, the directors of the Rožaj Center for Culture and the Bosnian Cultural Center of the Sarajevo Canton signed a cooperation agreement that foresees the organization of joint events, tribunes, forums, round tables and other gatherings aimed at the realization of various cultural contents.
Within the framework of inter-institutional cooperation, which is defined in more detail in the Agreement, there will also be activities to implement projects of mutual interest, the main task of which is to strengthen cultural ties between Rožaj and Sarajevo Canton.
The interlocutors paid special attention to the topic of education and assessed that it is necessary to start an initiative to abolish or reduce tuition fees for students from the region studying in Bosnia and Herzegovina as soon as possible.
At the meeting, it was noted that Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina have very good neighborly relations and that there are numerous opportunities for joint activities that could be supported by EU funds.
