Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said that the Government plans to redirect a part of the funds from the state budget for each municipality from the north in the coming period in order to realize some smaller projects.

The Prime Minister and ministers in the Government met with the presidents of the municipalities of the Northern region to consider models for improving cooperation and to discuss the implementation of capital infrastructure projects.

Abazović says that the government wants to show special sensitivity towards the north of the country within the limits of possibilities.

"The idea is to have small things, but to get them started. "Let's see if there are any ideas or projects that are not megalomaniac, but that can be implemented within a reasonable time," he said.

He believes that it will be possible to redirect part of the funds from the state budget for each municipality from the north.

The government is dealing with the problems of the north and wants to reduce the level of high unemployment, prevent the emigration of the population, and solve the problem of road and utility infrastructure, said the Prime Minister.

Although numerous problems of the northern municipalities were presented, Abazović is satisfied with the meeting.

"In order to keep people, we have to create new value," he said.

He said that many meaningful initiatives were presented.

"The state does not have the capacity to do everything. We have to find some priority. "We will 100 percent solve some of the issues that came to the fore today," he said.

After the events in Ukraine, he says, the prices of construction materials rose drastically, which meant that many investors who carry out the work were paid more to pay penalties and issue bank guarantees than to continue doing the work they had started.

Abazović added that everything possible will be done to meet the tourist season, that somehow the roads will be repaired and that the works will be completed.

He announced that one session of the Government will be held in the north, most likely in Žabljak.
