Local action plan for young people in the municipality of Rožaje
The NGO Civic Youth Initiative in partnership with the Municipality of Rožaje started the project of creating a Local Action Plan for the Youth of the Municipality of Rožaje (LPAM), which is supported through the De facto STRONG program implemented by the Fund for Active Citizenship - fAKT, and financed by the European Commission, through the Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro through the IPA Civil Society Facility program.
During the implementation of this project, i.e. the creation of the Local Action Plan for youth in Rožaje for a period of four years, the needs of young people in the municipality of Rožaje will be recorded, where young people will be actively involved in the very creation of the plan as well as its implementation. Based on this plan, certain needs of young people from different areas will be identified, and future activities will be foreseen, for which young people will choose based on their own interests. In this way, young people in Rožaje will be directly involved in various activities and participate in various spheres of life in this city, which has about 5,000 young people aged 15 to 29. With this plan, preconditions will be created for the later writing of action plans for young people for a longer period of time.
The President of Rožaje municipality Mr. Ejup Nurković and his associates will provide full support to the implementation of this project, because the adoption of basic documents in all segments of the operation of a social system is a strategic starting point for concrete activities that contribute to changing the current situation. Accordingly, this document will be a starting point and proof of the willingness and will of the local self-government to make an effort and, according to the guidelines that will be formed by the youth, take the necessary steps and measures that will lead to the improvement of their position in our community.
The NGO Civic Youth Initiative emphasized that the work does not end with the adoption of this plan, but that it begins only then and that it will represent a strategic document that must be implemented in the coming period, with the help of which young people in Rožaje will discover and build a better future.
