Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Montenegro Karel Urban visited Rožaj
The Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Montenegro, Karel Urban, visited Rožaj today.
The occasion of his stay in the city under Hajlo was the awarding of the prize to Semi Muratović, ninth grade students of the elementary school "25. May", for an artistic creation at the International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts in Lidice.
This year, 67 countries of the world participated in the competition for participation in the prestigious art event organized in the Czech Republic with 25,690 works by children aged four to 16, on the theme "Water is more valuable than gold".
Selma's art work, under the mentorship of Professor Ibrahim Kurpejović, is one of two works from Montenegro that earned the attention of the expert jury.
The ceremony held on that occasion was also attended by the president of the municipality of Rožaje Ejup Nurković, the president of the municipal assembly Husein Kurtagić, the school management and its teachers, and the students who created and followed the program. As part of the event, awards were presented on behalf of the school.
This manifestation has been held for more than four decades in memory of the children from the Czech village of Lidice who were killed by the Nazis in 1942, but also in memory of all children who were victims of war conflicts.
Ambassador Urban also met with representatives of local self-government and announced the beginning of various forms of cooperation in the field of diplomacy and culture. In the dialogue that followed, he emphasized his satisfaction with the hospitality shown to him in Rožaje.
The ambassador noted that Montenegro is a very beautiful country and that, together with his colleagues, he will be dedicated to designing and proposing various projects in the coming period, the implementation of which will strengthen the bridge between the cultures of the two countries.
Local self-government leaders led by President Nurković spoke to the guests about the specifics of the Rožaj climate and showed openness to diplomatic networking with the Czech Republic in detailed social spheres.
In order to complete the experience of Rožaj customs, traditions and culture, the guests, together with President Nurković, visited the Native Museum "Ganića Kula".
