Avdić reacted to the insulting rhetoric of the DF MP
Here and in these days of the religious holiday for Muslims, we are witnessing a devastating rhetoric in the state parliament by DF MPs Namely, insulting Bosniaks, Albanians, and Muslims in rhetoric has already become a daily routine. I have to announce myself as a representative of the local parliament from the most Bosniak municipality in Montenegro, but at the same time the most Montenegrin. The most Bosniak because it has the largest percentage of the Bosniak population in Montenegro, and the most Montenegrin because it gave the largest percentage of support for an independent Montenegro. Perhaps these two epithets are a thorn in the side of the representatives of the freakish ideology, which we thought was behind us at the end of the 90s. But, it seems we were mistaken, because every now and then the "nostalgics" remind us of such times and send us clear messages. Those messages are not addressed only to us Bosniaks, Albanians or, in the religious sense, Muslims, but also to all of democratic, multi-ethnic and, above all, civil Montenegro. What was declared in the last case of insulting my people by MP Milutin Đukanović is the final straw and I think that all state bodies should react adequately, and above all Montenegrin society that nurtures a culture of coexistence and diversity. I would like to tell Deputy Djukanović that we Bosniaks incorporated our being into the state of Montenegro with all other nations, including the Serbs, and that he must accept this as reality sooner or later and not count our blood cells and how many of us there are in the state apparatus. He should have counted us about 20 years ago, when we were nowhere in state institutions, precisely because of the rule of the ideology that he now represents. If Montenegro made a departure from such ideology thanks to my people, then I am proud of them, and if you still blame him for it, then I am even prouder. That is why, MP Đukanović, you do not build happiness for your people by invoking misfortune to others, but by using the trust given to you by the people to guide your people and all citizens towards coexistence and building a better and more promising future for all citizens of Montenegro. And finally, it's better that you visited Rožaje and walked through this beautiful bazaar in these Eid days, to try baklava and the beautiful festive atmosphere, when love and good neighborly relations are promoted. To feel a little charm of coexistence, maybe it will drive the hatred out of you.
