The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Montenegro, the NGO Discover Serbia from Priboj and the Student Organization of the Faculty of Traffic from Belgrade, as part of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA II) - Cross-Border Cooperation Program Serbia - Montenegro 2014-2020, are implementing the CULT BIKE ROUTE project .
The goal of the project is to improve the capacity for researching tourist potential through the establishment of a bicycle route that will simultaneously promote and reveal the underdeveloped cultural and natural heritage of the area covered by the program, attract local as well as users of international EuroVelo routes passing through the Balkans and influence the economic development of the gravity area along the bicycle route. The task of the project in question is to establish a bicycle route that will be several hundred kilometers long and will pass through 12 municipalities in the cross-border region.
The municipalities included in the project from Serbia are Tutin, Novi Pazar, Ivanjica, Raška, Nova Varoš and Priboj, and from Montenegro Rožaje, Berane, Kolašin, Pljevlja, Bijelo Polje and Mojkovac.
Along the route, the establishment of 'mountain bike sharing' and a system of potential accommodation capacities for cycle tourists is planned.
In order to adequately implement the project, representatives of the Municipality of Rožaje - head of the President's Cabinet Emir Kuč, secretary of the Secretariat for Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection Rusmir Džudžević and director of the local Tourist Organization Nedžad Murić met today with representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Goran Drobnjak and Milena Ražnatović, and Danijelo Vučković, representative of non-governmental organizations that are project partners.
The local self-government of Rožaj will be a constructive collaborator in the process of implementing project activities that are carried out for the benefit of all local communities that will be involved in the creation of the cycling route and whose goal is to affirm the tourist potential and cultural heritage of Montenegro and the region, is the message from today's meeting.
