The Red Cross and the Municipality of Rožaje distributed food to citizens

Volunteers of the municipal Red Cross organization successfully carried out the distribution of basic foodstuffs to households in the territory of Rožaj who are in a state of social need.

The work of the Red Cross in Rožaje is supported by social entities and individuals whose only goal is to deliver essential life necessities to people with poor financial conditions, impaired health and members of the elderly population at their home addresses as long as the current epidemic caused by the corona virus lasts.
The municipality of Rožaje strengthened the capacities of the municipal Red Cross organization by paying the accumulated debts for electricity and telephone, which were disconnected, and provided more than 60 packages with food for life.
The President of the Municipality, Rahman Husović, during a tour of the premises of the Red Cross, said that all the resources of local bodies and services are available for the quick and successful implementation of planned activities, with the aim of protecting all citizens of Rožaj.

The secretary of the municipal organization of the Red Cross in Rožaj, Jusuf Juka Dacić, thanked the President of the Municipality, Rahman Husović, for, as he said, the sensitivity he shows towards humanitarian activities and the expressed concern for the categories of the population that are most exposed to the negative effects of the new situation. Dacić also said that over 200 food packages were distributed during the two-day campaign.
The cooperation of the municipalities with the Red Cross was agreed in accordance with the new measures and recommendations for the protection of citizens from the spread of the coronavirus, adopted by the Ministry of Health.
