A delegation from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia visiting the municipality of Rojaj

Interested in buying the Bottled Water Factory

A multi-member delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Sheikh Bader Salem A. Bugsham, visited the municipality of Rožaj, where they talked with the president of the municipality, Ejup Nurković, and his associates. Nurković said that the guests from Jeddah, representatives of a large corporation, showed interest in the privatization of the Water Factory.

- The Arabs visited us on the recommendation of their manager for Europe from Ljubljana. After the meeting, we toured together the existing factory and the spring, which has been inactive for almost six years. We also toured several empty factory halls. We believe that these are serious investors who liked our capacities. We have shown full responsiveness to the Arabs and, in addition to the Water Factory, we have also offered other production halls, as well as warehouse space, so we expect that this visit will bear fruit - said Nurković, pointing out that the guests from Saudi Arabia, apart from water, were also interested in for the wood industry, and that through the conversation they promised future cooperation in the field of creating new jobs.

The Saudis announced that if everything goes according to plan, they intend to start production at the Water Factory at full capacity, where they plan to work in three shifts.

- We were told that they would be ready to employ between 45 and 50 workers in each shift, which would be useful for us considering that over 140 people would find work in the factory. We introduced the guests to the subsidies we can offer them, and the benefits offered by the Government of Montenegro. They liked it and they left us very satisfied. - said Nurković.

By the way, the owner of the majority package of Fabrika voda is Crnogorska komercijalna banka, or Faktoring, which purchased the property based on credit arrangements, and part of the package is owned by Hajran Hot. It is a plant equipped with modern machines that stopped working about six years ago.

- Yesterday, the Arabs spoke with the representatives of Faktoring and we hope that they will find a common solution for the start-up of this factory, where production stopped only after a little more than a year of operation - said Nurković.

He points out that the local administration was recently visited by another delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is seriously interested in opening a pellet factory.

- We presented to that delegation that we have ready-made plants in which they could, with small investments, start production - said Nurković, who expects that the investor will submit an offer in the near future.
