The mayor of Peć, Gazmend Muhadžeri, with his team visited the municipality of Rožaje, where he was received by the president of the municipality of Rožaje, Mr. Ejup Nurković, and his associates.
The meeting primarily discussed cross-border cooperation and joint projects under European Union funds in the field of tourism development and tourism potential, as well as environmental protection.
Considering that Rožaje and Peć, in addition to bordering as two municipalities, are also state borders, and the possibility for cooperation is even greater, which creates good preconditions for better application for EU funds.
There was also talk about the traditionally good relations between Rožaj and Peć and between the Republic of Kosovo and Montenegro, and that relationship is constantly being improved to mutual satisfaction.
The president of Rožaje municipality, Mr. Ejup Nurković, thanked for the visit and said that meetings of this type when it comes to border municipalities are very important and should be given special importance and create conditions for cooperation in the field of economy and entrepreneurship, including production and trade.
The mayor of Peć, Mr. Gazmend Muhadžeri, thanked for the warm welcome and proposed that Peć and Rožaje sign a twinning protocol, which would also be a confirmation of historically good relations, with which President Ejup Nurković agreed.
At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed that they should work together to transfer good and friendly relations to the younger generations, all with the aim of creating conditions for a safe and good future of the two municipalities and the two countries, the meeting concluded.
