Iftar for more than 2,000 citizens

The convoy of the Istanbul municipality of Bajrampaşa "Brotherhood knows no borders" arrived in Montenegro, in Rožaje, for the first time during this year's month of Ramadan, where a traditional joint iftar was held for more than 2,000 citizens.

President of Rožaje Municipality Ejup Nurković said that with tonight's iftar, Bajrampaša municipality lifted Rožaje to its feet.

"We, as the management of the municipality, are very grateful to our friends from Bajrampaša for organizing this iftar in Rožaje. It means a lot for our city that tonight there are citizens from several municipalities, who break the fast together and socialize," said Nurković.

The head of the Islamic community in Montenegro, Rifat Fejzić, expressed his satisfaction that tonight they will break the fast together in Rožaj.

"This shows that brotherhood knows no borders. This is a nice event of religious and cultural character. For us Muslims, it is extremely important, because it reminds us of a common table," said Fejzić.

Before Montenegro, the municipality of Bajrampaša organized such iftars in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo and Macedonia. The convoy then continues to Albania, Greece and Bulgaria, from where they return again on Bajrampasha.

We would like to remind you that in the past nine years, the "convoy of berićets" has distributed around one million iftars in nine Balkan countries. The project called "Brotherhood without borders" was launched by the Istanbul municipality of Bajrampaşa. A convoy consisting of three trucks, two buses, three minibuses and technical support vehicles is touring the Balkans for the 10th time this year.
