Whoever loses has the right to be angry...
We are transmitting part of the text Radomir Tomić, published in Pobjeda, September 24, 2014.
Inter-party and inter-party fights with announcements and other types of media appearances are one thing, and the functioning of the local administration, that is, the ruling coalition in the municipal authorities, is quite another, Ejup Nurković, president of the Rožaj municipality, told our newspaper. The executive power was constituted only two, two and a half months ago, we have entered into all the inevitable processes of analyzing the situation we have found and we are aware that we have a huge job ahead of us. The citizens gave us a lot of trust for such activities on May 25, and we are determined to justify it.
No exceptions…
As far as inter-party relations are concerned, the one who lost the elections can be angry; it is his democratic right and it is even understandable to me, explains President Nurković. I am determined to be the president of all citizens and I have no intention of meddling in party and party matters, especially not in media fights, which in my opinion harm everyone, and can hardly benefit anyone. However, what interests me are the possible illegalities of the former government, starting with employment, the disposal of public finances, the state of public companies, institutions and institutions, but that work will not end in the media, but in the competent institutions of the system. There will be no amnesties, no matter how angry anyone is.
To the question - whether the daily inter-party heating of the atmosphere affects the functioning of municipal authorities, Nurković answers in the negative. We work and will work, he points out, exclusively in accordance with the laws and, he points out, we will not pay attention to various attempts of political and other forms of obstruction, until we are convinced that such actions do not harm the interests of the municipality and its citizens. But even then, such individuals and possible groups will not be dealt with by parties, but by competent state authorities. There will be no exceptions, no matter who it is.
"Cases" on the website
The first man of the executive branch also commented on the first wave of layoffs, which was reported by Pobjeda (i) in yesterday's edition. According to his interpretation, it is about 34 officials who were employed before and after the May elections, in violation of legal regulations, exclusively along party lines. All other "cases" will be reviewed, not only in the municipal administration, and the goals are respect for legality and rationalization of public administration, municipal enterprises, institutions and institutions.
I have been informed that the Democratic Party of Socialists, for that and some other reasons, initiated 16 or 17 proceedings before the Administrative Court of Montenegro, and I have nothing against that. On the contrary, I'm even glad because we have all the necessary documentation, and the fact that all the "cases" on our municipal website are available to the public 24 hours a day proves that we worked very responsibly and publicly. Media-political speculation is one thing, and the relevant official documentation is a completely different story, and it cannot be canceled by party announcements and unfounded public accusations that it is political revanchism. And those who say so know that it is not true, because they are the ones responsible for manipulating the feelings of the people they illegally employed, concluded President Nurković.
Wahhabis are not a danger...
The increasingly frequent media speculations, not only in the country but also abroad, that there are more and more Wahhabis operating in Rožaje, who could represent a potential danger not only for inter-faith but also intra-faith tolerance, do not worry Rožaje municipality president Ejup Nurković too much. Explains:
And that is another type of media exaggeration, when it comes to the situation in Rožaje. I am convinced that the Wahhabis do not pose any serious danger either to Rožaje or to Montenegro. One part, which according to some external features may resemble members of the Wahhabists, is even angry because of the name - Wahhabism. These are people who profess their faith and are not a danger to others...
After all, both as a party (Bosniak), and as the new municipal leadership, we have traditionally good relations with the Islamic religious community and with the reis, but also with other religious communities whose elders and all believers we greatly respect. Just now (Friday, 12:35 p.m.) I visited the Orthodox church with my colleagues and talked to the clergy, because we intend to see what and how we as a municipal government can help them in the coming period. Our goals are, among others, the consolidation of interreligious and interethnic tolerance, as well as the creation of an atmosphere in which every Rožaj resident, regardless of all differences, will feel like a free person, in his municipality, in his city, among his own...
