Competition for participation in the VII Francophonie Games, Nice 6-15. September 2013
In accordance with the status of an observer country, Montenegro has been invited by the International Organization for Francophonie (MOF) to participate in the VII Games of Francophonie, which will be held in Nice (France) from 6-15. September 2013.
Based on the propositions determined by the International Committee of the Games of Francophonie (CIJF) in cooperation with the Directorate for French Language, Cultural and Linguistic Diversity - CIJF, the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro invites interested artists to apply for a competition for participation in the VII Games of Francophonie, which will next gather 3,000 young athletes, artists and creators from 75 member states or observers of the International Organization of La Francophonie.
Applications refer to two disciplines: painting and photography, which are divided into two segments: exhibition (works created specifically for the Games will be part of a collective exhibition in Nice) and workshop (works created within the workshop, during the Games).
The competition is intended for authors who are citizens of Montenegro, not younger than 18, nor older than 35, if they acquired citizenship at least 6 months before the start of the Games.
The pre-selection of candidates is carried out by the National Commission of Montenegro. Consent to the pre-selection, which is carried out by the National Commission of Montenegro, is given by representatives of the International Committee of the Games of Francophonie (CIJF) and the Directorate for the French Language, Cultural and Linguistic Diversity.
The final decision on the award winners at the Francophonie Games is made by a committee made up of 5 members of different nationalities, from the milieu of visual arts, and the selection criteria refer to all elements of the work, with an emphasis on creativity, composition, coherence of expression and technical mastery of the artist.
The National Committee of the Games of Francophonie (CNJF) will provide insurance for the work from the moment of arrival at the venue of the Games until departure, the Ministry of Culture will cover the costs of transport and work insurance during transport.
The organizer (International Organization for Francophonie) covers the costs of accommodation and food for the participants, while the Ministry of Culture will provide travel and insurance costs for the Montenegrin representatives.
The competition for both competition disciplines is open for 30 days from the day of publication on the website of the Ministry of Culture. (25.05.2012.)

Specific rules for the painting competition discipline:
Exhibition
The artist competes with one work, specially made for the Games, which must be a recent production (less than two years), provided that it has not already been presented in an earlier international competition.
Conditions of participation:
* Along with the application form, the artist submits a CV and a portfolio of 5 photo-reproductions of his previous works, with which he does not apply, and the rights to non-commercial use are released;
* Maximum format of the work: 2 x 2 m;
*Maximum weight: 25kg;
* The work must be delivered to the venue of the Games 2 months before the opening (July 6, 2013), with perforations (ready for hanging). The background of the work should include: the name and surname (or pseudonym) of the artist and the title of the work, with installation instructions.
Award: Works will be awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals.

Workshop
The second work will be created during the workshop on the given topic. The second part of the workshop will be dedicated to meetings, animation and/or collective creation.
Specific rules for the competitive photography discipline:
Analog and digital photos will be presented at the exhibition, and digital photos will be treated exclusively at the workshops. The artist-photographer is obliged to present an original work.
Exhibition:
The artist proposes four works specially made for the Games, which have not been presented in previous international competitions or used for commercial, industrial or media purposes.
Conditions of participation:
• For the purposes of the exhibition, the use of digital and analog photography is allowed, as well as the use of multimedia means of expression;
• For the purposes of the workshop, only digital photos can be used; The use of multimedia means of expression is allowed;
• Four (4) black-and-white and/or color photographs, exempt from the right to non-commercial use (digital or analog);
• Photos must have a maximum format of 80x80 and a minimum of 50x50cm;
• Four works must be delivered to the venue of the Games 2 months before the opening (July 6, 2013). Works should be glued to a hard surface, ready to hang. The format of each installed work must not exceed the dimensions of 1x1m;
• The application form is accompanied by a CV and a bound portfolio, complete with the 5 most significant works that reflect the artist's personality, with which he does not apply to the competition, in the fields of his choice, format 18 x 24 cm, black and white or color without background, exempted from the right to non-commercial use.
Award: Works will be awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals.

Workshop
The second work will be created during the workshop on a given topic (exclusively digital photos, using your own digital devices).
Digital files (high definition on CD or DVD) as well as digital printing will be provided by CNJF. Special requests will be subsequently considered by the Directorate of CIJF and CNJF.
