One of the two basic environmental problems faced by modern society is the creation and accumulation of a huge amount of waste that cannot be recycled in a short period of time and that leads to the devastation of the living space and puts all citizens at risk. All municipalities in Montenegro face this problem, and this problem is especially pronounced in the north of Montenegro.
One of the actions planned to be implemented at the level of Montenegro is the action "Let's do it Montenegro" organized by the Association for Democratic Prosperity Zid. This action is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Sustainable Development, which helped the initiative get the most votes and support in the "Be Responsible" action.
The action "Clean up Rozaje in one day" will be carried out on May 20 and is part of the campaign, "Clean up Montenegro in one day" and the international action, "Let's do World".
In order to present the action, "Let's do it Montenegro" and create an action plan for the preparation of the aforementioned action, representatives of the Association for Democratic Prosperity Zid, consisting of Igor Milosevic, Mirela Kalamperovic and Vasilisa Milosevic, visited the municipality of Rozaje and held a meeting with the members of the coordination team in the Small Hall of the Cultural Center Rozaja, which consists of representatives of the Municipality, municipal institutions, the civil sector, members of school volunteer clubs, representatives of the Rozaja Youth Club and educators.
At this meeting, a mobile application for mapping certain locations was presented, with the help of which citizens will be able to recognize and report the most critical points of illegal waste disposal. At this meeting, a video of the preparations and the day of action in Estonia was presented, where it all started in 2008, when a small group of young people decided to do something about the garbage that was in their surroundings. At this meeting, the coordinators who will have certain responsibilities during the preparation of the action were also determined.
The mapping of locations in the area of the municipality of Rozaje will be done through the cooperation of representatives of the Municipality, municipal institutions, the civil sector, students of the Gymnasium, September 30, and all interested citizens.
The recruitment will involve the Secretariat for Culture and Sports, the Secretariat for Economic Development, the volunteer club of the 30 September High School and the Rozaje Youth Club, which will be in charge of online recruitment and the Facebook page "Let's do it Rozaje".
This action is an opportunity for all representatives of the civil sector, the municipality and local institutions in the area of the Rozaj municipality to unite and work together to solve the problem of illegal dumping of waste and its removal from certain localities. The expectations of this action are to encourage citizens, regardless of gender, age, job, origin and affiliation, to participate in this action in as many numbers as possible and show that they are socially responsible citizens.
As part of this action, a competition for the best photo and the best selfie action will be organized in the form of collecting photos that will present the destruction of the beauty of natural/urban areas by pollution in Montenegro. The goal of the competition is to promote social bonding in the community, self-initiative and raising awareness of polluted areas in Montenegro.
On this occasion, we invite all citizens of Rozaje to voluntarily join this action and for Rozaje to be declared the city with the best results and the most massive response of all citizens. Citizens can obtain additional information about the aforementioned action at the premises of the Rozaje Youth Club.
