The young greatest potential of Rožaj, we are proud of their achievements

As part of this week's meetings, the President of the Municipality, Rahman Husović, received Azra Zejnelagić Redžović, a master's degree in genetics and bioengineering who, thanks to her fruitful efforts in the field of science, is ranked among world-class scientists.

The President expressed his pleasure at meeting Rožajka, whose name has become significant in scientific circles, and emphasized that the Municipality will strive to further affirm the success of young and talented people who, with their achievements, represent their homeland in the best way in our country and the world.

"The main potential of Rožaj is young people, many of whom are widely known for their successes in various fields. Our fellow citizen Azra Zejnelagić Redžović is already making a huge contribution in the field of scientific discoveries and we are proud of her work, which has become recognized around the world. The municipality of Rožaje will provide support to every person, especially young people, on the way to affirmation of creativity", said President Husović.

Azra Zejnelagić Redžović currently works at the Center for Molecular Biology and Biobanking in Malta. Together with the scientific team, she published a scientific article for the magazine "Biotechniques". Namely, she and her team managed to isolate good DNA from samples stored for 18 years at -20 degrees C. The isolation of good DNA is primarily important for the study of genetically caused diseases.

This study is the foundation for future scientific research aimed at exploiting the maximum potential of long-stored samples.
