Notice for agricultural producers
Representatives of the municipal Secretariat for Agriculture, Tourism and Water Management and local Agribusiness info center these days they are visiting local communities in Rožaje in order to present the support measures for farmers implemented by the Municipality of Rožaje in cooperation with the relevant ministry.
During the tour of Bijela Crkva and Biševo, Secretary Mersad Šutković said that the Municipality of Rožaje aims first of all to inform itself about the situation on the ground as well as the needs of Rožaje farmers in order to provide them with support in the future in order to improve the conditions for crop and livestock production.
The Secretariat for Agriculture, Tourism and Water Management and the Agribusiness Info Center offer free support to farmers in the development of projects with which they can apply for Public Calls of the Ministry of Agriculture, which are aimed at the acquisition of equipment and the expansion of agricultural production.
The municipality of Rožaje has been introducing additional incentive measures for the development of agriculture since this year. Namely, farmers can apply to the Municipality for free procurement of breeding heads (heifers, lambs and kids). Upon approval of the request, a four-year contract is concluded between the farmer and the Municipality, after the expiration of which the farmer is obliged to return the breeding stock of the same age. This incentive measure gives farmers the opportunity to form a livestock fund or increase it further within a period of four years. The Secretariat for Agriculture, Tourism and Water Management is open on all working days to provide information to interested citizens about all the procedures that accompany applications for public tenders and the use of funds from the local agricultural budget.
