Marked "30. September" Day of the Municipality of Rožaje
In the presence of a large number of dignitaries and guests from the side, a ceremonial session was held on the occasion of the "Day of the Municipality of Rožaje"
After the intonation of the Montenegrin national anthem performed by the "City Choir of the Rožaje Cultural Center", the President of the Rožaje Municipal Assembly, Husejin Kurtagić, in his opening speech, greeted the attendees and thanked the guests, management and citizens.
The session was also attended by the Vice President of the Government of Montenegro Mr. Rafet Husović, Advisor to the President of Montenegro Dr. Amer Halilović, representatives of the Islamic community and the church community. Among others, the mayors of the municipalities: Tutin, Novi Pazar, Sjenica, Petnjica, Plav, Kolašin, representatives of the municipality of Kavadarci from Macedonia, and high emissaries of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Turkey, Slovenia and representatives of the Government organization TIKA as well as respected citizens and officials of the local administration of Rožaje were present.
Telegrams on the occasion of "30 September (Municipality Days)" were sent by: Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro Milo Đukanović, President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović, HE Ambassador of the Russian Federation, President SD Brajović, President SNP Srđan Milić, Chief-Admiral of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro Dragan Samardžić, Minister Defense Milica Pejanović, President of the Parliament of Montenegro Darko Pajović.
A short documentary was also broadcast, in which a cross-section of the local administration's work in the past year was shown.
The president of the Rožaje municipality, Mr. Ejup Nurković, in his address said, among other things:
"It is up to us to continue creating a business environment for new investments and investors, and to promote a sustainable stay in the countryside, and as the demographically youngest municipality in Montenegro, to create a better future for our youth"
Among other things, Nurković placed a special emphasis on the construction of infrastructure and its exceptional importance in improving the quality of life, both in the city and in the countryside, and that the local administration invested over two million euros for these projects. Emphasizing that in the coming period, he will work even harder and even better, so that Rožaje gets its place on the modern map of Montenegro and the region.
As part of the program, the awards "30. September" as well as modest cash prizes for the best students of Gymnasium and Vocational High School.
Awards "30. September" received: for humanitarian work - Husnija Hulja Korać, for contribution in the sphere of education and science - the director of Elementary School "25. Maj" master's degree Avdo Nurković and posthumously, for his contribution in the field of culture, to Mehdija Husić, and the award was received on behalf of the family by his niece Sajma Husić.
It is worth emphasizing that Sajma Husić decided to donate the monetary part of the award to the Humanitarian Organization "Rožaje", whose founder is Jusuf Jusko Ćatović, which is an example that a man lives as long as his deeds, and Mehdija Husić left a mark in time that will last as long as lasted and the last stone of the "Ganića Tower" Native Museum, for the construction of which he personally has the greatest credit, without enumerating his merits in education and pedagogy, as well as those for which he once had to leave the country, in order to save the "Bosniak in himself" as today we would be able to declare ourselves freely by our national name.
Husejin Kurtagić, president of the Rožaje Municipality Assembly, presented modest cash prizes to the best students, high school students, and went to Amina Dacić from the Vocational High School and Isljam Halilović, a student at the Gymnasium "30. September".
The occassional musical number was performed by Adis Murić, a native of Roza.
