Round table with businessmen from Rožaj
The Local Business Center (LBC) and the Municipality of Rožaje organized a round table with prominent and successful businessmen from our city on the topic "Current state of the local economy". The meeting was chaired by the President of the Municipality, Mr. Ejup Nurković, and the same was attended and actively participated by representatives of the Local Administration: director of LBC Jasmin Bralić, secretary of the Secretariat for Finance Kadrija Agović, director of the Administration of Local Public Revenues Elvis Škrijelj, secretary of the Secretariat for Economy Nezir Dacić and project manager at LBC Fikret Kuč. The meeting was also attended by the director of the Forestry Administration PJ Rožaje Faruk Kalač.
The President of the Municipality proposed to businessmen that the Local Self-Government exempt them from certain taxes and fees that represent a barrier to the development of the economy, and that their obligation should be to employ the workforce. LBC has announced a large number of different activities and incentive measures, the aim of which will be to make business easier for businessmen. Among the mentioned measures, the "Public call to employers to subsidize the creation of new jobs in 2015" stands out, where the Municipality and LBC plan to stimulate new employment in the local economy with 60,000 euros.
The following conclusions were agreed at the round table:
- The President of the Municipality will form a commission that will regularly visit businessmen in order to get better acquainted with the problems and difficulties in their business;
- It is necessary to regularly organize round tables on similar topics with representatives of local and state authorities;
- It is necessary for the Municipal Government to put pressure on the representatives of the Government to help the Rožaje in the domain of economy as well;
- It is necessary for the local administration to launch an initiative towards the competent institutions in order to prevent or limit the uncontrolled export of logs;
- It is necessary to find a way to reprogram the existing obligations of businessmen towards the local administration.
