The municipality exempts business entities from taxes and fees, the collection of real estate tax is also postponed
By carefully considering the consequences of Covid-19 in the field of the local economy, the Municipality adopted a Decision within the framework of which support measures were defined for entities operating in the territory of Rožaj.
Businesses and entrepreneurs on the territory of the municipality, which were prohibited from working during the duration of the protection measures, will be exempted from paying the communal tax for the use of space on public areas for business purposes and fees for the use of commercial facilities with access from a municipal or uncategorized road for a period of time of 60 days.
These include catering facilities (hotels, cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and bars), children's playrooms, fitness centers, beauty and hairdressing salons, casinos and betting shops.
The decision on measures aimed at mitigating the consequences for citizens and the economy caused by the Covid-19 pandemic will postpone the collection of real estate tax for all individuals and legal entities so that the first installment is due on August 30. 2020, and the second on November 30, 2020.
The President of the Municipality, Rahman Husović, said that since the introduction of temporary protection measures, the main goal of the local self-government was to preserve the health and lives of citizens. He pointed out that it is important that in the coming period we remain consistent in implementing the recommendations of the authorities and that, regardless of the limited possibilities, we jointly start implementing measures for the long-term socio-economic recovery of society from the consequences of the pandemic.
