Beginning of the construction of the Day Center for children with special needs
The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Zorica Kovačević, and the director of the Directorate of Public Works, Zoran Živković, stayed in Rožaj.
Today, the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Zorica Kovačević, and the director of the Directorate of Public Works, Žarko Živković, were on a working visit to Rožaj. On that occasion, Kovačević visited the Center for Social Work and talked with the director of that institution, Kadrija Agović, about the current problems that the institution is facing.
- The need of this municipality is the beginning of the construction of a day center for children with special needs, and today we visited the location of the future facility, the construction of which has been discussed for many years. We have already provided funds in the amount of about 400,000 euros for that project, while we will fight together for its equipment, either through donations or with funds from the Government and the relevant ministry. We agreed that while the works are going on, we will already establish a public institution - said Kovačević, pointing out that the ministry pays 200 euros per month for each child, participating in the costs of housing children in this center. She called on parents whose children have developmental disabilities to bring them to the day care center, because the children recover better, and the parents get eight hours of free time for other activities.
- I was informed by President Nurković that there is already a donation for the construction of a center for children without parental care, and we will work on creating conditions for the lives of homeless people and victims of violence, as well as for abused children - said Kovačević, emphasizing that after it is formed, Directorate for Social Services, next year to provide support to housewives in order to protect the oldest population.
She announced that the Ministry of Employment of Higher Education received a total of 7.1 million euros and that 4.1 million will be allocated for employment in the north.
- We expect the signing of the agreement on IPA projects next month. It's about grants. We will start from Rožaj and offer your higher education students grants of 10 to 15,000 euros without charging fees and taxes. What is very significant is that we received the support of the Investment and Development Fund of 1,000,000 euros, and this support is intended for work in agriculture and tourism, as a stimulus for the development of those areas in our own business - said Kovačević.
Kovačević expressed her joy at the launch of one of the plants in Gornji Ibro, especially because of the number of people who will be employed, because 159 new jobs is not a small number for a small municipality like ours.
Kovačević spoke with the employees of the Center for Social Work, and she received a certain number of citizens with whom she talked about the problems they were faced with after the start of the application of the social card. She said that all those who have the right to material benefits will realize that right. She mentioned that the Center for Social Work is conducting disciplinary proceedings against several employees and that an investigation is underway into the abuses that occurred. Kovačević added that there were abuses not only in Rožaje but also in other municipalities in Montenegro.
- The Director of the Center for Social Work has my full support. We agreed today, together with the President of the Municipality, to help a certain number of people who are in a really difficult financial situation with one-time financial aid. The ministry that I lead will pay full attention to people who are in a state of special needs, so we will try to send monthly funds that are not too large, as much as possible to Rožaje - Kovačević concluded.
Director Živković said that the Government allocated about 1.4 million euros from the capital budget for several projects that are being implemented in this municipality within the program of the Directorate of Public Works for this year.
- The construction of "Carine" street, a project worth around 380,000 euros, which is being implemented by the Directorate and the Municipality in partnership, is coming to an end. Work on the construction of the Day Center for people with disabilities has started these days. It is a project worth about 400,000 euros, which should be completed by the end of the year. Recently, the construction of the Ćosovsko vrelo waterworks began, an investment worth around 1.8 million euros, which will be realized in stages. Also, the construction of the road from Hajla to the town of Štedim, 7 km long, is to begin these days. It is a capital investment. with a total value of over 3 million euros, which will be implemented in phases - said Živković and reminded that the Government has allocated 300,000 euros to the Rožaj municipality for the rehabilitation of the Turjak ski resort, that is, the preparation of the winter tourist season.
President Nurković expressed his satisfaction with the visit of high-ranking government officials and pointed out that a lot of important topics for this municipality were raised.
- We discussed with Minister Kovačević how to help poor citizens. We have agreed on a large number of people who need help and have agreed that the relevant Ministry and Local Government will do it together through the implementation of various projects. One of those projects is the construction of a day care center where a number of those people will get a job, said Nurković.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the dynamics of the implementation of infrastructure projects that are carried out through the Directorate's program.
During their visit to our municipality, Minister Kovačević and Director Živković, accompanied by President Nurković, toured the start of work on the day care center on Banžovo brdo.
