Construction of the embankment of the Ibar river has begun, pipes for the collector are being laid in parallel
The implementation of the project for the improvement of the coastal fortifications of the river Ibar has begun. The value of this investment, carried out by the Directorate of Public Works of Montenegro in cooperation with the municipality of Rožaje, amounts to over 400 thousand euros. Although the start of work on this project was announced earlier, their implementation could not begin because the weather conditions were not favorable.
The director of the Directorate of Public Works, Almer Kalač, explained that the arrangement of the banks of the Ibar is closely related to the construction of collectors for wastewater treatment. In parallel with the first works, the installation of sewage pipes for the future collector, the construction of which is planned for over eight million euros, is being carried out.
The wastewater treatment plant, which is an integral part of the collector, will be located on the site of the former "Ljekobilje" factory, and the collector itself will stretch from the Dimiška bridge to the plant itself with branches along the Lovnička and Ibarčanska rivers. This project will solve the problem of wastewater and take a key step in the process of preserving the natural environment. In this way, the Ibar River will take over the role assigned to it by nature and stop being a recipient of waste water, it can be concluded from the statement made by Kalač.
Works on the implementation of other projects in the territory of the municipality of Rožaje, which are financed by the means of the Directorate of Public Works, are progressing at a satisfactory pace. The first phases of work on certain planned facilities and parts of the road infrastructure will soon begin in order to complete the Investment Plan adopted by this Government department.
