Winter time begins
By moving the hands of the clocks back an hour, on the night between Saturday and Sunday, winter time begins. Thus, on Sunday, October 27, at 3:00 a.m., clocks should be set back one hour to 2:00 a.m.
Daylight saving time starts on the last weekend in March and lasts until the last weekend in October.
The transition to summer time was introduced in 1916 in the countries of Northern Europe, and since then it has been adopted by about 70 countries, counting on saving electricity by "moving" the period of daylight from the early morning hours to the evening.
