Visit of a delegation from the municipality of Rožaje headed by the President of the Turkish Embassy in Montenegro

In Podgorica, on February 4, 2015, the president of the Rožaje municipality, Ejup Nurković, the president of the Rožaje Assembly, Husein Kurtagić, and project development coordinator Amela Kalender, visited the Turkish embassy in Montenegro. The delegation was received by His Excellency Mehmed Nijaz Talinir and Ajdin Rakić.

President Nurković thanked for the warm welcome as well as the contribution to twinning with the city of Kutahija in Turkey. The importance of cooperation with Turkey and the possibility of cooperation through projects was highlighted in the conversation.

President of the Assembly of Rožaje, Husein Kurtagić recalled the historical connection between Montenegro, Rožaje and Turkey, stressing the importance of close cooperation between the Bosniak people and Turkey, placing special emphasis on numerous opportunities for cooperation on cultural, economic and social projects.
Coordinator for the development of projects Amela Kalender presented 15 projects in the field of agriculture, rural and sports tourism, construction of priority facilities (day care centers, market...) for the municipality of Rožaje and development of administrative and technical capacities of the Municipality of Rožaje.

The ambassador thanked for the visit and praised the initiative for continued cooperation and the numerous projects that were presented. He suggested that the municipality in the field of agriculture should focus exclusively on providing support to private farms, that it should not enter into the establishment of farms it owns, because the experience in Turkey has shown that agriculture can only be developed in the hands of private individuals, and not in the ownership of the state or municipality. and that in Turkey they gave up state or municipal farms a long time ago.

The ambassador proposed that municipal officials visit international tourism fairs, in order to get in touch with as many tourist brands as possible and achieve better cooperation. His Excellency, in principle, accepted the idea of strengthening the administrative and technical capacities of the Municipality and promised to support that project.
After the protocol talks, the president of the municipality of Rožaje, Ejup Nurković, presented a gift to the ambassador, "Landscape of Rožaje" by Emir Kardović.
