VISIT OF THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT DELEGATION TO ROJAJA

The President of Rožaje Municipality, Ejup Nurković hosted the Chinese government delegation today. The mediator of this visit is the Government of Montenegro led by the Director of the Directorate for Forestry, Mr. Adem Fetić and the representative of ASFIM for Montenegro, Mr. Nikola Perović.
The meeting was attended by the director of the forest administration of the Rožaje regional unit, Mr. Faruk Kalač, the vice president of the Rožaje municipality Idriz Nurković, the manager of the Rožaje municipality, Elvir Klica, and the secretary for economic development and entrepreneurship of the Rožaje municipality, Nezir Dacić.
The president introduced the guests to the real state of forests in our municipality, the way of using these resources, as well as the development strategy. On this occasion, the president of the municipality informed those present that some development projects are being developed in order to put some capacities into operation in cooperation with the Government of Montenegro. In the conversation, he explained the state of underutilization of our forest potential, in terms of insufficient finalization of products at existing wood processing plants, as well as underutilization of biomass.
This is the first visit of this delegation to our municipality and they expressed great interest, after getting to know the potential of Rožaj and the will of the local administration, to establish further cooperation on the economic and investment level.
One of the members of the delegation, Mr. Liyan Zhang, is the director of the China National Forest Product Industry Association, which has over 1,000 member companies in the wood industry, and who, as he promised in the conversation, will soon visit our municipality again in the company of potential strategic partners from this area.

Today, the delegation visited the facilities of the former factory Gornji ibar and the company Jela Komerc doo. Montenegro log cabins that make Rožaje recognizable.
