A protective fence was installed on the road to Balotići
Work on the installation of a 200-meter-long metal protective fence on the part of the road towards the local community of Balotići has been completed. As part of the investments made by the municipality of Rožaje in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs, a new round of rehabilitation of this steep road route that stretches through the canyon of the river Grlja has started.
The president of the Rožaje municipality, Ejup Nurković, is satisfied that the local self-government has fulfilled another promise it made to the residents of this area. According to his observation, the significance of the works carried out is reflected in the improvement of the safety of road users on this part of the road network.
Irfan Tahirović, an independent consultant in the Directorate for Construction and Investments, speaking about this apparently small but very important project, noted that its realization amounted to about 15,000 euros.
The locals of Balotić thanked all the actors who participated in improving the living conditions of their area. As they claim, the intervention to rehabilitate this part of the road prevented potential accidents that could have happened to road users. In particular, they say, they worried about their children who were traveling to school. They hope that the local self-government will continue at the same pace to invest funds in the modernization of the roads that connect them to the city core.
The first phase of works on improving the road infrastructure towards Balotići was carried out in 2016 and 2017. It included widening the road route and stabilizing the slope. The value of the works at that time reached 90 thousand euros.
Local government officials are announcing other interventions to improve the quality of life of local residents living in rural areas.
