Memorandum on cooperation regarding gender equality signed

The Minister for Human and Minority Rights, Dr. Suad Numanović, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Gender Equality with the Head of the OSCE Mission in Montenegro, H.E. Janina Hrebičkova and the president of the municipality and the Rožaje Municipal Assembly, Mr. Ejup Nurković and Husein Kurtagić.

The subject and goal of this Memorandum is the establishment of principles according to which mutual consultations will be carried out, information will be exchanged and joint work will be carried out on the implementation of activities aimed at establishing gender equality at the local level.

The main goal of joint activities is to establish local mechanisms of gender equality, to strengthen the capacities of civil society, as well as to establish mutual cooperation at an even higher level.

The expected results from the signing of this agreement are the strengthening of established mechanisms for achieving gender equality at the local level and the provision of appropriate normative infrastructure, with the aim of ensuring and achieving equal opportunities for citizens at the local level to exercise all rights and freedoms, use personal knowledge and abilities, as well as achieve equal benefits from work results, and increasing the number of women in decision-making positions.
