SIGNING OF AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ROŽAJA WITH THE MUNICIPALITY OF GORAŽDE
The president of the municipality of Rožaje, Ejup Nurković and the mayor of the municipality of Goražde, Ph.D. Muhamed Ramović today solemnly signed the Agreement on cooperation between the municipalities of Rožaje and Goražda, with the aim of institutionalizing cooperation and showing commitment to development goals of mutual importance. The agreement will be valid upon approval of the Rožaje Municipal Assembly and the Goražde Municipal Council.
Rožaje had the pleasure of hosting the Mayor of Goražde, Muhamed Ramović, the head of the Service for Social Activities, General Administration and Common Affairs, Sanid Zirak, and the President of the Assembly of Novo Goražde, Ibrahim Drljević, who during their stay in our municipality visited the local administration, the Ganić Kula museum, The central mosque, the refugee cemetery, the Fazlić family, as well as vacant buildings available for investment in the territory of the municipality.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Goražda in his official address to the President of the Municipality, Vice-Presidents of the Municipality, Idriz Nurković and Mirsad Azemović, President of the Assembly Rožaje-Husein Kurtagić, Directors of Directorates, Secretaries of the Secretariat, Heads of Services, Manager of the Municipality, Chief Administrator, Heads of Committee Clubs, Members of the President's Cabinet, to businessmen, the media and employees of the local administration, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the humane residents of Rožaj who took care of thousands of refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially from Goražde and Foča, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to Montenegro for good neighborly relations. With his sincere, heartfelt and warm address, he especially emphasized the stories of several families and individuals, whose fates did not leave anyone indifferent.
In his speech during the signing of the Agreement, the president of the Rožaje municipality stated that the ideas for this step came after his first official visit to Sarajevo, when he personally met the mayor of Goražde.
Goražde is the city with the lowest number of unemployed in BiH and they expect that in two years it will be the most successful municipality in BiH. Metal, textile, plastic and woodworking industries are especially represented in Goržde. Their products are marketed all over the world, so there are almost no cars that do not have plastic parts originating from Goražde. The production of chairs and light bulbs has also been specially developed.
"The local government in Goražde is working to connect businessmen, we expect the same to happen when it comes to the cooperation of our two municipalities, we will make every effort to work together and network businessmen from our municipalities as best as possible. We have already entered into communication with the presidential office in Rožaje, and ideas for future projects have already come forward. We will especially focus on joint projects that we will refer to European funds. For a long time we thought about which municipality should be our sister municipality in Montenegro, we chose it to be your municipality, because we are also morally bound to it. We have good relations with Montenegro and good cooperation with the Ambassador of Montenegro in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The municipality of Goražde has 19 sister municipalities, some of which are from Turkey, France, Germany, Spain... The municipality of Rožaje will be our twentieth sister municipality and we are looking forward to it.- said the mayor of Goražde, Mr. Muhamed Ramović, in front of those present.
After the opening remarks, those present had the opportunity to see the presentation of the municipality of Goražde, prepared by the Mayor of Goražde, in which the production factories and companies with the largest number of employees were individually presented.
The cooperation agreement envisages economic, agricultural, economic, cultural, educational and sports cooperation between the municipality of Goražde and the municipality of Rožaje.
After welcoming and greeting all present, President Nurković expressed his great satisfaction with the cooperation that had begun, believing that it will be very successful, because there is a mutual desire to continue and deepen it, where the citizens of Rožaj and Goražde will benefit.
