The Vice President of the Municipality, Mirsad Azemović, hosted the Judo champions from Rožaj
The Vice-President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Mr. Mirsad Azemović, received today the representatives of the Judo Club "Ibar", led by Mr. Omer Nurković, the coach of the Montenegrin national team, who was also present with Jahja Nurković, Edvin Čivović and Jusuf Nurković.
Among other things, coach NurkoviĆ said that our team and our city can boast of three national champions who played for the Montenegrin national team at the Balkan Championship for senior pioneers in Skopje. We can say that this is the biggest championship of the Balkans and all the Balkan countries participated with two competitors each and in extremely strong competition we won two medals. The only member of the national team who won silver for Montenegro is Čivović Edvin, and Jahja Nurković who won the Bronze medal.
Our third member of the national team, Kalač Amar, did not manage to win a medal because he lacked a little sporting luck. In addition to these national team members, in the first part of the competition season we had five more national champions who defended their colors at the European Cups, among them is Jusuf Nurković, who won a medal from the European Cup for seniors that took place in Sarajevo. Jusuf will also compete in the European Junior Championships in Spain and the European Junior Senior Championships in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The only medal winner for the Montenegrin national team at the official European Cup for seniors is Edvin Čivović, which is no small thing in such a big competition, emphasizes coach Nurković, who is otherwise a licensed coach of the Montenegrin national team.
It is worth emphasizing that Jusuf Nurković, who is currently ranked 25th in Europe, will try to meet the Olympic standard and participate in the next Olympic competition.
The Vice-President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Mr. Mirsad Azemović, first of all as a man who loves and advocates sports, congratulated the coach and his competitors on their success and emphasized that LU will do everything possible to support top athletes and wished them success in future competitions.
At the end, Coach Nurković thanked the local administration for their support.
