President Husović in the Netherlands with the diaspora
"Rožajsko vece" was held in the Netherlands - the diaspora sent unique messages.
Organized by the "Kula" association, a "Christmas Eve" was held in the Dutch city of Eindhoven on Saturday. The event brought together representatives of the diaspora from different parts of the Netherlands. At the invitation of the organizers, the meeting was attended by the President of the Municipality of Rožaje Rahman Husović, the Secretary of the Embassy of Montenegro in Belgium Ivan Tomić, and Dr. Mehmedin Tahirović, university professor.
The event was also attended by members of associations from the countries of the region - the Bosniak Fund from Luxembourg, the Belgian-Montenegro Friendship "Montenegro", the Platform of the Montenegrin Diaspora in Germany and the Cultural and Information Center of Montenegro in Luxembourg.
The traditional festive gathering was organized with the aim of promoting the cultural heritage of the people of the Rožaj region and strengthening cooperation with the hometown.
The first part of the evening was reserved for speeches. The president of the "Kula" association, Emrah Hot, opened the event and welcomed the attendees.
The President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Rahnman Husović, presented to the citizens of Rožaje who live in the Netherlands, and to all the guests, the infrastructure projects that are being implemented in the city under Hajlo, as well as the local vision of development based on the recently adopted strategic documents. Husović invited our fellow citizens in the diaspora to be active participants in all social development processes that lead to the progress of Rožaj.
The representative of the Montenegrin embassy in Brussels, Ivan Tomić, pointed out that it is important to organize gatherings that bring together the diaspora and that contribute to strengthening its ties with Montenegro.
Mehmedin Tahirović, professor of humanities studies at UDG, held a short lecture for the participants of the event on the topic "Reflection of the war in Ukraine on the security of the Western Balkans and Montenegro.
President Husović, on behalf of the Municipality of Rožaje, presented President Emrah Hot and other representatives of the association "Kula" with certificates of appreciation for humanitarian work. The members of the Board of the association "Kula" - Hilmo Tahirović, Samedin Fetahović, Nedžad Murić and Edin Kačar - made a special contribution to the successful organization of the event. . The socializing of the Rožaj diaspora and their friends with the guests from Rožaj and Montenegro continued with an appropriate cultural and artistic program, as well as with folk music performers - Alen Hasanović and Isa Dautaj.
The Rožaj association "Kula" was founded in the Netherlands in 2016 by merging several local organizations founded by Rožaj residents. Since then, its members and management have been actively working in the field of affirming and nurturing the tradition and culture of the Rožaj region, and preserving the values on which the national identity and sovereignty of Montenegro rest.
In addition, the Rožaj association "Kula" has so far implemented a large number of projects in the sphere of improving the economy, education and sports, as well as numerous humanitarian actions.
The message was sent from the meeting that in challenging times we must connect even more strongly and rely on each other and work together to create conditions for the fastest possible entry of Montenegro into the EU.
Before the establishment of the "Kula" association, Rožaj men and women living in the Netherlands organized similar events in several locations. After that association started working, our fellow citizens in that country unitedly mark important dates and implement cultural and artistic programs.
