The Ambassador of Turkey to Montenegro visited the Municipality of Rožaje
Today, President Husović hosted a high-ranking delegation from the Turkish Embassy in Montenegro, led by Ambassador H.E. Barış Kalkavan, his wife Mrs. Sayın Bilge Kalkavan, associates, representatives of TIKA and the Yunus Emre Institute.
The delegation of the Municipality of Rožaje consisted of the President of the Rožaje Municipality - Almir Avdić, the Vice Presidents of the Municipality - Ismet Kalač and Redžep Kurbardović, as well as the Chief of the President's Cabinet - Emir Kuč and the Adviser for Public Relations - Andrijana Radević.
At the very beginning of the meeting, President Husović wished a warm welcome to our city and expressed his deep regret for the earthquake in Turkey and respect for all the victims.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the work invested by the development agency TIKA in Montenegro, and especially in Rožaje. So far, several million euros have been invested in numerous projects, which are of general importance.
The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the functioning and way of working of the Municipality of Rožaje and to establish cooperation that can be expected in the coming period, in order to create better conditions for a better standard of living and the stay of people in these areas through joint efforts.
The ambassador expressed his gratitude to the citizens of Rožaj who provided support and showed compassion to the victims of the earthquake that struck Turkey and said that he will focus his efforts on supporting projects that are in the interest of the citizens of Rožaj, primarily youth employment.
Also, Ambassador Kalkavan emphasized the excellent general cooperation at the state level, between Montenegro and Turkey, but also emphasized the importance of intensifying it in the fields of economic development and preserving the valorization of cultural heritage.
Bearing in mind the importance of the Hajla-Štedim Ski Center project, which is in an advanced stage, the promotion of the Rožaj region by Turkish companies has been announced, it was announced at the meeting.
The Embassy advisers concluded that Rožaje has significant resources in the field of tourism, agriculture and wood processing, which are suitable for investments.
President Husović expressed his gratitude for the excellent cooperation with the Embassy of Turkey in Montenegro, for the sincere brotherly relationship, which is evidenced by the fact that the previous ambassador, H.E. In 2021, Songul Ozan was declared an honorary citizen of Rožaj at the ceremonial session on the occasion of the Municipality Day.
