The President of the Municipality, Ejup Nurković, promised help to the Vukosavljevics

The Vukosavljević family, who yesterday decided to draw attention to their social problem by pitching a tent in front of the municipality building in Rožaje, in a conversation with the mayor of the municipality Ejup Nurković, received a promise for a solution to the problem. 

The president of the municipality, Mr. Ejup Nurković, was already familiar with the problem of the Vukosavljević family and, in accordance with the possibilities of the Lolkana administration, met it by having the local administration pay the rent for this family for 14 months, as well as with one-time monetary donations and help in the housing.

The President further emphasizes that solving these and similar problems should be done institutionally, and that the Institute for Social Welfare is the main link in a series of institutions that should take care of these and similar social categories. However, it is up to us as a local government to try to find solutions for these and similar cases, even though this and similar problems have been recorded for more than two decades, and we as an institution strive for a systematic and gradual solution in accordance with our capabilities, which are not large and which requires time as well as legal regulations.

The Vukosavljević family will be taken care of until the final solution is found, to provide them with a roof over their heads with the help of institutions and donors. I am sorry that they spent the night under the tent, especially because of the children, but I also understand that Goran decided to take this step because of long-term dissatisfaction and a difficult life that culminated in him deciding to take this step, concludes the president.

It is worth emphasizing that the Vukosavljević family, Goran and Marina, have three minor children and that they are currently tenants and live on social security, welfare and child allowance, from which they have had to pay rent, electricity, water and provide food for the past few months, which of course is not enough.
