President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Ejup Nurković visited the local communities in the rural area
The President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Mr. Ejup Nurković, together with the Secretary of the Secretariat for Local Communities, Mr. Vehbija Honsić, in accordance with the Work Plan for this year, visited the local communities in the rural area and on that occasion held meetings with local community authorities (Council presidents, Council members and local residents ) discussed the evident problems in that area and how to overcome them in order to create better conditions for the life and work of the locals.
On the basis of the presented problems from these meetings, it can be concluded that the locals in all local communities share identical problems that are passed on from year to year for a long period of time: insufficiently built road infrastructure (asphalting, breakthrough and buffering of roads), inadequately resolved issues of supplying the population with water and electricity, problems related to solid waste disposal, unemployment, difficult financial situation of individuals, families and the wider community, inadequate stimulus measures for the development of agriculture and animal husbandry, illegal transport of huge loads on local roads by concessionaires, solving the problem of organized transport from the Ministry of Health to of the city, the lack of an internet network in most of the territory, winter maintenance of roads, non-operation of ambulances several days during the week, irregular and inadequate maintenance of schools and their yards, as well as other problems faced by citizens in the local area.
Participating in the discussion at these meetings, the President of the Municipality, Mr. Ejup Nurković, informed those present about what was done at the level of the Municipality in the period of one year, i.e. from the moment of assuming power based on the election results of 25.05. in 2014. After taking office, the current government adopted a new Decision on the organization of local administration bodies, new bodies and services were established in order to more effectively resolve citizens' requests, it carried out rehabilitation of several road routes in the local area, maintenance and clearing of snow on the roads in the winter period, new spatial planning documentation and project documentation for certain investments, which created a basis for the Municipality to seek assistance from the competent financial institutions for the financing of certain infrastructure projects. The local administration led a special activity in connection with finding strategic investors and activating certain production facilities in the former "Upper Ibar", so positive results are expected in this regard. Discussions are also being held with other potential investors regarding the construction and activation of some production capacities.
The new government in the system of local self-government treats the local community in a way that belongs to it in accordance with the current legal regulations in order to strengthen its role in these processes.
New bodies were elected in all local communities - Councils of the Ministry of Health and Council presidents. Their task is to be a link between citizens in the local area and local government bodies, and they deal with issues of immediate interest to citizens in a certain area, such as: roads, water, electricity, social issues, employment, education, health, passenger transport and students and others. In order to improve the work of local communities, the new government established the Secretariat for Local Communities as a new body of local administration, which is capable of providing administrative and professional assistance to the Ministry of Health, said the Secretary of the Secretariat for Local Communities, Mr. Vehbija Honsić.
At these meetings, it was agreed that the Presidents of the Council should submit an Investment Plan with established priorities for their area, for this and the next year, and their realization will depend on the dynamics of the inflow of funds into the Municipal Budget and other program documents adopted by the Municipal Council. The President emphasized that all recorded problems can be solved through partnership between the Municipality, the local community, the diaspora and others. The President accepted to resolve a number of requests for the realization of which funds in a smaller financial amount are necessary.
