The president of the municipality of Rožaje and his associates visited the site of the future park "Crnja-Brezovačko Brdo"
As part of the implementation of the "Crnja-Brezovačko brdo" park-forest development project, Rožaje Municipality President Ejup Nurković, biologist Halil Markišić, MSc, secretary of the Secretariat for Planning, Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection Rusmir Džudžević, directors of Rožaje Tourism Organization Nedžad Murić and Rožaje Radio Television Mirsad Feleć, as well as representatives of the Ski Center "Hajla" and the NGO Avlija, visited that location.
After a tour of the grounds, President Nurković and M.Sc. Markišić made suggestions for the development of the "Crnja-Brezovačko brdo" park-forest, which will contain tourist, cycling, hiking and fitness trails, resorts, shelters from storms, educational information boards about plants and animals species, and there is also an idea to establish a mini botanical garden. The tracks will be marked, there will be goals for indoor soccer, baskets, a children's playground, a mini library with a reading room, benches, tables, trash cans, parking for cars, as well as two bridges over the Crnja River that will connect circular cycling and walking paths. President Nurković pointed out that the local self-government will continue to support all ideas and projects of general interest by giving full support to the arrangement of the park with pedestrian and bicycle paths, in order to satisfy the citizens' need to spend quality free time in nature and promote the development of tourism.
Professor Markišić emphasized that we must preserve nature for future generations and expressed his satisfaction that the local self-government will protect and, in accordance with ecological standards, valorize this site of exceptional natural and cultural-historical values, which, regardless of its small distance from the city, represents an oasis of peace for all visitors. According to Markišić, such a beautiful and accessible natural complex near the city, which citizens will soon be able to use for recreational purposes to their general satisfaction, is not found in any city in the surrounding area. Children, youth and members of the elderly population will be able to spend their free time in untouched nature, he added.
Director of the Local Tourist Organization, Nedžad Murić, expressed satisfaction with the realization of this project because, as he pointed out, it will significantly enrich the tourist offer of Rožaj, and especially the citizens will get an arranged picnic area, a resort and a place for recreational and sports activities. The forest paths will be used for hiking and cycling in the summer, and for snowshoeing, ski touring and snowboarding in the winter as a contribution to the healthy development of young people, Murić said.
