President of the Rožaje SO Almir Avdić visited the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center in Podgorica
The President of the Rožaje Municipal Assembly, Almir Avdić, paid an official visit to the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center in Podgorica, where he was welcomed by Can Güray, acting director of the foundation's representative office.
During the talks, it was agreed to strengthen the cooperation between Rožaj and the Republic of Turkey in the field of culture and education through the implementation of a number of projects.
The interlocutors agreed on activities related to the continuation of the study of the Turkish language in schools where that language is classified as an optional subject and its introduction in all schools of primary and secondary education at the state level. On this occasion, representatives of the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center will visit the municipality of Rožaje and its schools at the end of February.
In the field of viewing cultural and historical assets, an event has been announced to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Çanakkale, which will take place in March, as well as a visit by cultural and artistic societies from Turkey, which will be hosted by the Rožaj Culture Center. Judging by the negotiations, it is certain that the municipality of Rožaje and the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center will be partners in the implementation of certain projects that will be nominated by September of the current year, and which will be implemented in the next two years.
The sphere of non-formal education has also been evaluated as detailed for cooperation, so the announcement includes numerous courses intended for different target groups. The Yunus Emre Institute, through the cultural centers of the same name that are active abroad, aims to present Turkish culture, history and art to the world, contributing to cultural interaction and exchange.
