The President of the Tender Commission, Branko Vujović, spoke with Ejup Nurković in Rožaje
Valorization of the Gornji Ibar area is a common interest of the Government and local administration
The President of the Tender Commission, Branko Vujović, spoke with the President of the Rožaj municipality, Ejup Nurković, and his associates, in order to valorize the area of the former Gornji Ibar as soon as possible. It was also said that recently there are investors interested in that space. It was agreed that the preparation of the tender documentation for the tender for that area will start in these days. Nurković said that the local administration is interested in putting that space into operation as soon as possible in order to revive production and create new jobs, which would benefit the citizens of the Rožaj municipality and the state of Montenegro, and that he was fully understood by the Government as well. .
"The activities we have conducted in recent months to inform potential investors about the possibilities for valorizing this space are already yielding results. So far, interest has been expressed by several potential investors, which has accelerated the activities of the Tender Commission and the local administration in terms of preparing tender documents, as a necessary condition for announcing the tender.Nurkovic said.
Nurković expressed the expectation that this work will be done as soon as possible, so that some concrete activities can begin in the summer, stressing that in addition to production facilities, an elementary school and other facilities of vital importance for the municipality will be built on the premises of the former giant.
"We are especially looking forward to the realization of the children's park project, and we already have a donor for that investment. The park will be built on the site of the former GIR Canteen, and we informed the Tender Commission about this. We already know the partner who will lease Lamelirnica, while the rest of the site will be of a commercial-production character. Our goal is to open production activities in order to create as many jobs as possible- said Nurković in an interview with journalists.
Vujović said that the Government accepted the initiative of the local administration on the valorization of the Upper Ibar site and that it has already started the necessary activities on that front.
" It is good that the interested investors have already made an insight into the contents of the former factory space as well as the possibilities that give the chance to separate the structure through parcelization and bring the investors' intentions closer. We will try to prepare the tender documentation as soon as possible and adapt it to the needs and wishes of the investors. We know the condition of that location, the halls and equipment that are almost gone, but it is a fortunate circumstance that there is interest and we will be committed to attracting and retaining investors." - said Vujović and added that he expects that work to be done in the shortest possible time.
