Representatives of the Islamic Community in Montenegro visited the Municipality of Rožaje
With the aim of better cooperation between religious institutions and the local administration of Rožaje, the president of the Municipality of Rožaje, Ejup Nurković, initiated a meeting with the head of the Islamic community in Montenegro, Rifat Ef. Fejzić, who came with a delegation consisting of: General Secretary IZ - Fuad ef. Čekić, director of the madrasa "Mehmed Fatih" - Rahman ef. Kačar, president of OIZ Rožaje- Ernad ef. Ramović, chief imam of OIZ- Rejhan ef. Hot and vice president of OIZ Rožaje - Almir Avdić. The meeting was held today, November 23, 2015, and the meeting was attended by the President of the Rožaje Assembly - Husein Kurtagić, Vice President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Mirsad Azemović, Chief Administrator Redžep Kurbardović, Secretary of the Secretariat for Planning, Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection - Ešef Husić, director of the Property Administration Sabro Kalač, chief of staff Ismet Kalač and Amer Dacić, adviser to the Chief Administrator.
The president of the municipality of Rožaje welcomed the present guests and wished them successful future work, explaining his intention to work more intensively on strengthening cooperation with religious institutions in Montenegro and in Rožaje. At the meeting, various topics and problems faced by religious institutions in Rožaje were discussed and opened, in order to reach compromise solutions through joint work. Some activities aimed at better cooperation between these institutions were agreed upon, and a meeting with the representatives of the Islamic community in Rožaje will be organized as early as January in order to define the existing problems even more closely and to find common solutions. According to those present, the cooperation between these two institutions was at an enviable level, but we must work together even more intensively in the interest of our citizens.
On this occasion, the President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Ejup Nurković, presented a Certificate of Appreciation for the good cooperation so far to the head of the Islamic Community in Montenegro, Mr. Fejzić.
The conclusion of this meeting is that Rožaje, in the spirit of its history, should continue to promote interreligious and interethnic tolerance in order to serve as a good example of regulating relations between local administration and religious communities in all municipalities in Montenegro.
