PRESENTATION OF COOPERATION WITH EXPATRIERS
Today (June 4, 2015) a presentation on Cooperation with emigrants was held in Rožaje, initiated by the Center for International Cooperation and Diaspora in Rožaje and the Administration for the Diaspora of Montenegro, a department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. The Vice President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Mirsad Azemović, the head of the Center for International Cooperation and Diaspora, Fahreta Husović, and the head of the Department for Monitoring, Research, Information and Publishing at the Directorate for Diaspora, Zoran Đukanović, addressed those present.
The municipality of Rožaje is the only municipality in Montenegro that has a Center for International Cooperation and Diaspora as a separate body under the Local Government, which was evaluated according to those present as a step forward in solving the problems of emigrants, a systematic better networking and connection of the local government with emigrants, originating from Rožaje Around the world.
In the words of Mr. Azemović, "It is necessary to institutionalize cooperation with our emigrants and create better foundations for future cooperation, and our country should look at all emigrants with the same amount of attention and dedication." We must not act differently towards emigrants who feel differently nationally, this especially applies to Bosniaks of Montenegrin origin who have been marginalized all these years or are forced to be members of Montenegrin associations, which aims to destroy the Bosniak identity that has never been bothered Montenegro, because Bosniaks supported its independence with the largest percentage."
Mrs. Husović presented the present work and activities of the Center for International Cooperation and Diaspora, as well as the plan of future activities of this municipal body.
Mr. Đukanović presented the current affairs in work with expatriates, the Strategy of Cooperation with Expatriates for the period 2015-2018 and the Law on Cooperation of Montenegro with Expatriates, which was submitted as a draft to the Parliament of Montenegro and is expected to be adopted with the amendments made by the parliamentary clubs and deputies. The presentation was attended by the president of the Assembly of Rožaje, Husein Kurtagić, the chief administrator, Redžep Kurbardović, the secretaries of the secretariat and some directors of the directorates, as well as employees of the local administration, who expressed their opinions about the Draft Law and the future activities of the Department for Diaspora through their presentation and discussions, presenting the problems which our emigrants encounter.
