Presentation of the competition for the best ideas within the project "Open ideas for a beautiful Montenegro"

Today, in the small hall of the Culture Center, the presentation of the competition for the best ideas was held within the project "Open ideas for a beautiful Montenegro", in which the municipalities of Rožaje (the chosen location is Ganića kula), Berane, Mojkovac, Žabljak and Šavnik are participating. The competition will be implemented in cooperation with the Government of Montenegro, the mentioned municipalities, UNDP and the NGO Digitalizuj.me. The competition is about finding and rewarding the best ideas for the reconstruction of 5 locations in the participating municipalities.

The presentation was attended by the president of the municipality of Rožaje, Ejup Nurković, a member of the Parliament of Montenegro, Almer Kalač, local government workers, the NGO sector and interested citizens.

The presentation was opened by the president of the municipality, Ejup Nurković, who pointed out in his presentation that the Municipality of Rožaje will fully support the realization of this project, because it is a common goal of the Government of Montenegro, our municipality and our citizens; noting that all services of the Municipality will be up-to-date and help those interested to get the necessary information. On behalf of the UNDP Office in Montenegro, Marija Novković and Nikola Vulić spoke, explaining the stages and conditions of the competition, as well as answering the questions posed by those present.

The desire is that the knowledge and energy of the citizens will be appreciated with this competition, the winner will receive a prize in the amount of 3,000 euros, and will also have personal satisfaction because the project will be visible and will leave something lasting for their municipality and generations.

It is recommended that projects be done in teams, in order to exchange experience and opinions. There are no financial restrictions in the project, but it must satisfy at least some of the principles: that the project reduces unemployment, that the project respects vulnerable groups and/or the preservation of history and culture.

Submission of project proposals is done through the website www.otvorene ideje.me until March 27. On April 3, it will be known who the semi-finalists are. The commission for selecting the winning project consists of 5 members, and citizens can vote for the projects on the website. It is important that project proposals have sustainability and a positive opinion of future investors.

Anyone interested can get more information from the project coordinator of the Municipality of Rožaje, Amela Kalender, by contacting her at [email protected].
