The deadline for submitting applications for livestock premiums has been extended

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development informs agricultural producers who have not submitted requests for premiums in livestock production for 2020, that they can do so within May 12 to June 15.

We would like to remind you that, in accordance with the measures and recommendations for preventing the emergence of the corona virus, the reception of applications was temporarily suspended. 

The Ministry also, through the Special Program of Support for Agriculture and Fisheries, in order to mitigate the consequences of COVID19, paid 80 percent of the premium in advance to all producers who exercised that right in 2019. The payment of premiums was realized in accordance with the more favorable criteria from this year's Agricultural Budget, according to which, in addition to the increase in the amount of funds for premiums in animal husbandry, farms that exercise the right to support receive a premium for each head, and not only for heads above the stipulated minimum, as is the case either in previous years. That's it 5.246 of agricultural holdings engaged in livestock production paid in total 2,611,000 euros.

Through the continuation of the procedure for submitting requests for premiums (per head of cattle, premiums for fattening beef, as well as premiums for processing milk on the farm), as well as field controls, it will be possible for agricultural producers to receive the remaining 20 percent of the premium amount.
