Speaking today at the forum in Rožaj, Defense Minister Milica Pejanović Đurišić said that she believes that Montenegro will receive an invitation for membership at the next Summit in Wales, after which it will be decided how the citizens of Montenegro will declare whether they want to join NATO. alliance.

"I never had a dilemma that the majority of Montenegro would recognize the interest of membership in NATO, and it is multifaceted," said Pejanović Đurišić.

She said that since the restoration of independence, Montenegro has used various access funds and, with the support of partners and NATO, has reformed the army, which today can respond to modern security risks and threats, with the rational use of available resources and the unification of individual defense capacities at the regional level.

The Minister of Defense said that by joining NATO, Montenegro would have the opportunity to participate equally in making decisions that are of global importance for security and stability. In addition, Montenegro would create a safe environment for foreign investments that would directly affect the economic development of the country.

Most of the participants of the forum pointed out that they have no dilemma when it comes to joining the NATO alliance, and that such a step is necessary and beneficial in many ways.
