Draft program of investment activities discussed

Today, a public discussion was held regarding the consideration of the Draft Program of Investment Activities of the Municipality of Rožaje for 2021.

The total amount of planned investment activities of the Municipality for the current year is planned at EUR 552,500.00. These funds are intended for asphalting and rehabilitation of local roads, construction of water supply facilities, as well as preparation of project documentation.

President Rahman Husovic he addressed the present citizens and the local public and said that the Municipality, through the Directorate for Investments, Construction and Traffic, was conducting a detailed review of the citizens' infrastructural problems and that it would strive to solve them in an efficient manner.

President Husovic said that a huge number of requests were received from local communities at the address of the local self-government and that their realization would cost over four million euros, which is much more than the total amount of the entire budget.

"I would be very happy if the Municipality had enough funds to pave all the roads this year. However, budget funds are limited and the consequences of the corona virus pandemic are very visible. Therefore, the planned investments must be realized in accordance with priorities and with rational management of funds in order to succeed in meeting the needs of all local communities in the coming period., said the President and noted that the state budget has not yet been adopted and that the local self-government has sent a request for additional funds that would be used to improve the communal infrastructure.

Citizens who attended the public debate evaluated the work of the president Husović as honest and homely and expressed the hope that their individual and collective requests that are not included in the draft investment plan for this year will be realized in the coming period.

Director of the Directorate for Investments, Construction and Traffic Armin Honsic he answered all the individual questions of the citizens and said that, if the conditions are right, the Municipality will include a significant number of investments in this year's plan. Honsić reminded that in 2020 more was realized than planned.
