RESPONSE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ROŽAJA TO ALLEGATIONS THAT WAHABIS MEETED SECRETLY IN HAJLA
The president of the municipality of Rožaje, Nusret Kalač, announced that the information published by "Dan" about the secret meeting of Wahhabis in Hajla was not correct. He claims that it was not Wahhabis but mountaineers and tourists from abroad.
- It is very incorrect to write about Rožaje on this topic, based on inaccurate and false information, regardless of the source. We seriously and thoroughly checked the veracity of this information before the decision to announce it publicly and came to reliable data that it is completely incorrect and that there was no such meeting in Rožaje. Especially if we take into account the fact that on those days there were several groups of tourists from neighboring countries, from Serbia - about 40 of them, from France - about twenty. It is obvious that someone is bothered by the fact that Hajla Mountain has become very interesting for mountaineers from surrounding countries and beyond. It captivates with its natural beauty, and someone would like to stop this with untrue writings about gatherings that can certainly have a negative impact on the tendency of the number of people who want to be present on Hajla and Rožaje to grow.
It is strange to us that none of the groups of tourists present on those days noticed a gathering, as you write, of 100 people with a tent settlement, and that the only thing that seems to have been noticed by your source of information, because bearing in mind the fact related to your description of that together with a tent settlement and a prominent Turkish flag would probably attract the attention of such a large number of people, because Hajla is not a mountain so big that such a gathering of such character and intensity would go unnoticed by them.
It is incorrect to refer to sources of information for the sake of order, and it is especially incorrect to point out a photograph of a meeting that, according to our reliable information, was taken several years ago in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which makes it interesting with the ambition that the picture proves that it really happened . We are concerned about the frequent writing in your newspaper about the activities of Wahhabis in Rožaje, from those related to the alleged existence of training camps for them in this area, to those related to the organization of various secret gatherings, which have absolutely nothing to do with the truth. - stated Kalač in response.
