Tonight, in the Youth Center in Novi Pazar, the Central Ceremony was held on the occasion of celebrating September 28, Bosniak Day. This festive event brought together numerous personalities from the countries of the region who belong to the political and cultural Bosniak milieu, and was organized by the Bosniak National Council in Serbia.
The ceremony was attended by the President and Secretary of the Rožaje Municipal Assembly, Almir Avdić and Amer Dacić. The President of the Bosniak Council in Montenegro, Mirsad Džudžević, was not part of the meeting due to legitimate reasons, but he previously sent a congratulatory message to all Bosniaks on the occasion of remembering this historical event, in which, among other things, he invites all relevant entities dealing with the national issues of Bosniaks to cooperate on the implementation of projects of national importance for Bosniaks.
A congratulatory message addressed to the Bosniaks by Bakir Izetbegović, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was read in front of those present.
The Day of Bosniaks is celebrated for the first time this year in Novi Pazar, in previous years similar meetings were held in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
September 28 is a date that has the status of a "turning point" in the history of the Bosniak people. We remind you that on this day, 25 years ago, at the first Bosniak Assembly held in Sarajevo, the national name Bosniak was returned to the Muslims of Southeast Europe and the Bosnian language was declared the language of all Bosniaks.
