THE YOUTH FESTIVAL "BUJENJE" HELD IN ROŽAJE

Organized by the Rožaje Youth Club and the Youth and Informal Education Forum from Podgorica, the second Youth Festival "Awakening" was held in the Rožaje Cultural Center.

The festival was opened on behalf of the local administration by Ajsel Kalač, Secretary of the Secretariat for Culture and Sports, and on behalf of the Swiss Embassy in Montenegro, the attendees were greeted by Ms. Paulina Menthonnex Gacaferri, Deputy Ambassador of Switzerland.

The youth festival represents the end of a project financed by the Swiss embassy, and its main goal is to increase youth activism in the municipality of Rožaje, as well as to provide support that will enable young people to become aware, responsible and active citizens and to actively contribute to the development of their community in accordance with EU recommendations, said Aysel Kalač, opening this youth event.

The deputy ambassador of Switzerland, Paulina Mentonex Gacaferi, said that she was pleased that her country financed this project during the period when she chaired the OSCE, one of whose priorities was work with young people.

Those present were greeted by Elvira Hadžibegoviž-Bubanja, Executive Director of ForumMNE Youth and informal education, as one of the project leaders.

In the festival part of the program, youth activists, through skits and musical numbers, presented topics of importance to young people, such as the participation of young people in community life, human rights, suppression of hate speech on the Internet, respect for diversity and healthy lifestyles.

Before the official start of the program, Paulina Menthonnex Gacaferri, the deputy ambassador of Switzerland and her team, were hosted by the President of the Municipality Ejup Nurković in his office.

 The moderators of the program were Amina Dacić and Numan Nokić.
