In the organization of Bayampaşa municipality from Istanbul in cooperation with the municipality of Rožaje with the active participation of the Islamic community and Majlis from Rožaje, and under the slogan "Brotherhood knows no borders" in Rožaje, an iftar was organized on the city square for more than two thousand believers.
The event was attended by the highest officials of the municipality of Rožaje, as well as representatives of the municipalities of Tutin, Novi Pazar, Sjenica, Peć, Petnjica, Plav and Gusinje, as well as members of the Albanian people from the municipality of Rožaje. Together with the citizens, representatives of the Turkish development organization "Tika" and representatives of the Turkish embassy in Montenegro, as well as representatives of the Islamic community in Montenegro, broke the fast.
The faithful were greeted by the mayor of the municipality, Ejup Nurković, emphasizing that the iftar was organized in cooperation with, as he emphasized, the "brother municipality of Bajrampaša".
- This project is a sign of long-term cooperation with the municipality of Bajrampaša. We would like to thank the people of Bajrampaşa for their support, as well as all the citizens who are here to show attention to the state of Turkey and the municipality of Bajrampaşa.
The vice president of the municipality of Bajrampaša, Naser Šimšek Hot, said that they have been implementing the project "Brotherhood knows no borders" for 13 years.
- This is not just an iftar but a bridge between the Balkans and Turkey. All this was supported by our president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who thinks day and night about the Muslims from Sandzak and the Balkans, and from whom I send you greetings - said Hot.
- The deputy head of the Islamic Community in Montenegro, Rahman Kačar, thanked the representatives of the municipality of Bayrampaša and the people of the Republic of Turkey and their president for this good deed. He announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Montenegro, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will distribute translations of the Koran in Bosnian to the faithful during Ramadan. This project is a donation from the Republic of Turkey, and tonight we will start from here with the distribution of the Qur'an, which we will present to our guests - said Kačar.
The evening was enriched by the performance of the KUD "Vrelo Ibra" from Rožaj and folklore groups from Turkey, and other segments of culture were also presented, such as calligraphy as well as the specific art branch "Ebru" - "painting on water".
During the day, the president of the municipality, Mr. Ejup Nurković, attended the distribution of packages with guests from Turkey and visited the team of cooks from Turkey on the field, who were diligently preparing iftar.
On that occasion, President Nurković thanked them warmly for the effort and sacrifice they are making in order to strengthen the friendly ties between Rožaj-Bayrampaša-Montenegro and Turkey and welcomed their contribution.
