Today, annual awards were presented to athletes, sports workers, and sports organizations in the territory of Rožaj.
According to the reasoned proposal of the municipal Commission for co-financing of sports Armisa Kuč was declared for the best female athlete of the year. Recognition for young promising athlete of the year it belonged Ayša Kalač. Basketball club Ibis sports team of the year a Omer Nurković and Mersad Muković have received recognition for the best coaches in 2021.
The President of the Municipality of Rožaje Rahman Husović sent his hearty congratulations to the winners of sports awards, who, as he emphasized, despite all the challenges, managed to achieve outstanding results last year
"Rožaje is a city of sports. The local self-government will continue to actively contribute to the popularization of sports in the coming period activities among the youth, because, despite numerous restrictions, people from our municipality achieve world-class success. Athletes are our best ambassadors. I am convinced that the current year will be even more successful and that the sports talent of our youth will be expressed in full capacity", the president said Husovic and noted that the local self-government managed to fulfill all financial obligations towards the sports collectives and that budget funds for sports have recently been significantly increased.
The winners of the award expressed their satisfaction that the Municipality of Rožaje recognized their sports prowess and said that it is an immense honor when certificates for achieved success come from their hometown."I am proud to have been recognized as a young promising athlete from Rožaja. I am glad that my result was recognized by my fellow citizens and that the Municipality values our achievements. Thank you to everyone who has been with me since the beginning and who contributed to the realization of my dreams and goals", she stated Ayša Kalač, one of the winners of annual sports awards.
National team Armisa Kuč she recently signed a contract with the football club Zenit from Russia. Previously, she was a member of the strongest European women's football clubs. Armisa was declared the best player of Montenegro in 2021 in the survey of the Football Association of Montenegro and is the first female soccer player to receive this award.
Basketball club Ibar continuously achieves notable results, both on the domestic and international basketball scene. In 2011, he won the title in the second Montenegrin league. During the last year, the biggest clubs in the country, such as Mornar, Sutjeska and Lovćen, were defeated by Ibra basketball players. KK Ibar competes in the first league of Montenegro and for the fourth consecutive time on the international stage as a member of the elite "Balkan League".
Seventeen-year-old Ajša Kalač guards the net of the women's football club "Danilovgrad". The sports results she achieved in that club qualified her for the representative level, so Ajša was invited to defend the colors of the national team as the first goalkeeper of the youth national team of Montenegro. Football clubs from the most developed countries in Europe are also showing interest in Aisha's involvement.
According to the Commission's proposal, Omer Nurković and Mersad Muković are the best rated coaches in 2021. Nurković and Muković, in their sports disciplines, managed to produce national representatives. Thanks to their dedicated sportsmanship, they enjoy respect on the local, national and international sports scene.
