The budget of the municipality of Rojaje for 2019 was adopted in the amount of 7,865,000 euros

The budget of the municipality of Rožaje for 2019 in the amount of EUR 7,865,000 was unanimously adopted at the sixth regular session of the Rožaje Municipality Assembly. The budget for 2019 is higher by 1,490,000 euros or 18.94 % compared to the budget plan for 2018.
In the planned receipts, income from the Equalization Fund and ceded income from the state have the largest share, and they amount to about 3,950,000 euros. In the structure of planned expenses, the largest share is the repayment of obligations from the previous period and they amount to 1,800,000 euros.
7,068,881 euros were planned for the current budget, while 796,118 euros were allocated for the capital budget.
The budget was adopted unanimously with the opposition's assessment that it is a budget for stabilization and rehabilitation of bad economic conditions in Rožaje, and for that reason they supported the proposal for the Decision on the Budget for 2019. They are unique in their assessment that more money should be planned in the budget for sports, culture, education and agriculture.
The proposer, the president of the municipality of Rožaje, Ejup Nurković, expresses his satisfaction that the Budget was adopted, he points out that it is realistic and well planned, which is confirmed by the unanimous support in the Assembly. In response to the opposition's demands that more money be allocated for agriculture, sports and culture, Nurković is decisive, that the settlement of obligations towards employees in local government is a priority, and the demands presented by the opposition are not a legal imperative.
Decisions on the Final Account of the Budget of the Municipality of Rožaje for the year 2017 and the rebalance of the Budget for the year 2018 were not adopted.
The final bill for 2017 was not supported by DPS councilors, because, as they say, there was a lot of money in the municipal coffers, but that money was badly spent. SD councilors abstained during the vote, explaining it by the fact that 2017 was an election year, and they believe that part of the funds from the budget was used for the pre-election campaign. It is interesting that the Final Account for 2017 was supported by only one member of the ruling Bosniak Party, while the others abstained.
The president of the municipality, Ejup Nurković, who was the proposer, said that he fulfilled his legal obligation, and it is up to the councilors how they will vote for a certain proposal.
One BS councilor voted for rebalancing the Budget for 2018, seven DPS councilors were against, while the other 15 councilors abstained, so this decision was not adopted either.
The president of the municipality evaluated the outcome of the vote, regarding these two points, as a political decision and announced that he will once again offer these materials to the Assembly for adoption.
The President of the Rožaje Municipal Assembly, Almir Avdić, is satisfied with the work of the Assembly in the new convocation, emphasizing that from the day of its constitution until today, many important decisions have been made for the work and functioning of the local administration and the welfare of the citizens of Rožaje. Avdić also expressed satisfaction with the fact that the work program of the Assembly for 2019 was unanimously adopted at today's session.
At the sixth regular session of the SO Rožaje, new members of the management boards and councils of companies and institutions founded by the Assembly were dismissed and appointed. The people's representatives also unanimously adopted the Decision on increasing the remuneration for work in the Assembly.
